Greystone Rovers Foundation Donates £100 to D&G Prostate Buddies

Prostate Buddies Dumfries and Galloway Chairman Roly visited Dumfries’s highly respected Greystone Rovers Foundation on Tuesday evening ( February 18th 2020), to collect a very welcome donation of £100 raised by the over 35’s football team, made up of ex Greystone players.

The aim of this initiative is to get a group of men who have stopped playing football back out again, socialising and potentially losing weight at the same time, with well-being the aim rather than the sport itself. The team is selected jointly by Neil Sturrock and Mark Proudlock.

The donation was raised at the team’s first game where players from both sides decided that, rather than putting the money back into the foundation it should go to a local charity.
Mark Proudlock nominated Prostate Buddies D & G as it was close to him and it was unanimously decided that PB D & G should receive the cash.

And of course it makes perfect sense to highlight the cause as Prostate Cancer is something thing that men of the team’s age should be considering.

Our grateful thanks to Greystone Rovers Foundation for your support.
