Deadline Approaching for Local Groups Seeking Funding Up To £10,000

Groups across Wigtownshire and South Ayrshire are encouraged to apply for grants of up to £10,000 from the Kilgallioch Windfarm Community Fund before the deadline of 24th January.

Kilgallioch Community Fund is provided by ScottishPower Renewables from its Kilgallioch Windfarm and supports projects located within or directly benefiting Wigtownshire, Dumfries & Galloway and South Carrick, South Ayrshire. Since launching in early 2018, the Company has awarded over £650,000 to around 100 charities and community groups.

Around £400,000 will be available for distribution this year, with applications submitted in January being considered alongside larger grant applications invited to apply following initial proposals submitted in autumn 2019.

The fund is administered by Kilgallioch Community Benefit Company, with support from grant-making charity Foundation Scotland, and decisions are made by a board of local volunteer Directors. Neale McQuistin, Chair, said “We are looking forward to being able to offer funding to even more worthy causes, and are particularly keen to continue to see applications from small, community-led, grassroots groups, which make such a big difference to peoples’ lives in our communities.”

Criteria and details of how to apply to the next funding round, can be found at www.kilgallioch.co.uk. Pre-application enquiries are welcome, and groups can contact Foundation Scotland on 01557 814927 for advice.
