Third Sector Dumfries and Galloway back on the road in September

Third Sector Dumfries and Galloway is back on the road again in September with another great line-up of events in Whithorn, Gretna Green, Dumfries and Dundrennan.

Our first stop, on Wednesday 11th, is South Machars Community Centre in Whithorn and this has already been a big hit before we even arrive – a workshop on demystifying business plans after taking on a community asset is now sold out.

Joining our staff to welcome drop-ins from the public and third sector organisations will be the Community Ownership Support Service; Machars Action; and Lifelong Learning from the local authority. Bring your questions and topics for discussion and we will aim to help from 3pm-4pm.

Our next location is Stormont Hall in Gretna Green on Thursday September 19 when we will be bringing funders – both local and national – to groups interested in applying for grants from 10am to 4pm.

Confirmed funders so far are: National Lottery Community Fund; DG Unlimited; NHS Endowment Fund; The Holywood Trust; Smarter Choices, Smarter Places; and Foundation Scotland.

To book a slot at this event (please only book if you are certain to attend as places are limited) go to: https://bit.ly/2ZD38bQ.

Our staff will be available for support sessions at the same event from 10am to 4pm. You can also find out more and book a funding slot by phoning 0300 303 8558.

Community assets will be back on the agenda at our event in Dumfries YMCA’s new building, in the former Lochside Primary, on Wednesday 25th.

Learn the hows, whys and whats of transfers of buildings and land with Community Ownership Support Service and Dumfries and Galloway Council and gain inspiration from real life experiences.

You can find out more about the free workshop or book a place here: https://bit.ly/340dNNk.

Our staff will also be ready to answer any of your questions at our drop-in session from 1.30pm-3.30pm.

Our final date of the month is Thursday 26th when we visit Dundrennan Village Hall for an evening support session.

From 6.45pm-7.45pm, we will be running a creativity and innovation workshop to help third sector organisations. To find out more or book a space click here: https://bit.ly/2KWB3nX.

We will also be holding support drop-ins at this event from 7.30pm to 8.30pm. Again, please call 0300 303 8558 for more information.
