Dumfries based business The Boyd Group are offering a local organisation which may be a charity, a village or part of a larger community the chance to win a defibrillator worth £1233.00. The Boyd Group is a family run Health and Safety Group providing Health and Safety services, training, safety products and fire safety services.
Dayne Boyd told DGWGO “As we enter our 25th year in Business, we wish to continue our commitment to providing effective Health and Safety management and services across Dumfries and Galloway by giving something back to our local community. Without our local custom, the Boyd Group would not be where it is today and for that reason, we have decided to donate a defibrillator to one of our local charity, not for profit or community organisations.
To help someone who is in cardiac arrest effectively, a defibrillator needs to be found as quickly as possible. For every minute it takes for the defibrillator to reach someone and deliver a shock, their chances of survival reduce by up to 10%.
It is with this in mind that we want to help save lives and offer this defibrillator to a deserving.”

The judges will then shortlist the entries and a winner will be picked at random from those shortlisted on the 15th January 2021.
