POLICE PROBE £50,000 JEWELLERY THEFT – DUMFRIES

Police Scotland officers in Dumfries are investigating a high value housebreaking which happened at a house near Lochfoot, Dumfries sometime between Monday 4 and Wednesday 6 April 2016.

A large amount of cash and a quantity of expensive jewellery were stolen in the raid. A number of expensive watches were stolen , including an Ebel gent’s gold watch valued at over £20,000.  Items of jewellery stolen included diamond rings, bracelets and chains and gent’s cufflinks.  The total value of the property stolen is in excess of £50,000.

Detective Constable Martin Lumsden of Police Scotland said This break-in appears to have happened sometime between Monday and Wednesday of last week and we are asking for the community in the Lochfoot area to get in touch if they saw or heard anything suspicious, however small or insignificant it might have seemed at the time, to let us know on the 101 number.  Sightings of anything suspicious over this period, or even in the days before the break-in might help us catch those responsible.
