Best Bar None in its second year!

The Best Bar None awards scheme is a voluntary scheme which aims to recognise and reward well run licensed premises and encourage best practice in public safety with a strong commitment to making sure the customer can enjoy themselves in a safe and pleasant environment.
Each premise that enters the awards scheme is assessed and judged on a range of criteria. Police Scotland launched the Scheme in in 2013 through Pub Watch Online with eight premises receiving an award. Assessments are carried out by representatives from Police Scotland, The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and and Galloway Council.
Constable Audrey Johnstone, Community Police Officer said “I am pleased to say that nine premises in have successfully passed the scheme for 2014/15 and the following awards were given out at the recent Dumfriesshire and Stewartry Licensed Ball. The scheme has helped to continue to develop a positive relationship between the partner agencies and the licensing trade, all working together to make a safer place for socialising.”
