Cunninghame Housing Association Completes 130 New Homes Development at Hallmeadow, Annan

Cunninghame Housing Association has held a closing ceremony for their Hallmeadow development in Annan.

Work commenced on the 12.5 acre site in April 2022 and the housing association have now delivered 130 new homes for the Town which forms part of the association’s larger plans for the Dumfries & Galloway region.

DGWGO went along to record the day.

Frank Sweeney, CEO of Cunninghame Housing Association said “Hallmeadow is 130 homes. It’s been our biggest new build project since we come down here in 2017. It now gives the association over 400 houses in the Dumfries and Galloway area.”

“We’ve got another 147 units in the pipeline in Eastriggs and in Halcrow, in Gretna. In addition to that, we’ve got another four or five hundred that we’re hoping to deliver.”

“We should be sitting at 1, 000 new homes in Dumfries and Galloway which is good because folk are desperate for new homes. Quality homes.”

“The specification levels that we’re now putting into our houses in Dumfries and Galloway should cut down the use of people’s need for gas and electricity because of the heat retention within the fabric.”

Local Councillor Archie Dryburgh added “These are needed houses because of the lack of social housing that we have in Dumfries and Galloway. Their energy efficiency is absolutely brilliant and it saves money so that parents can spend money on their kids and clothes and food.”
