FOUR ARRESTED AT PALMERSTON, REST OF FANS PRAISED FOR GOOD BEHAVIOUR

Queen of the South v Rangers 21 February 2016

Police Scotland Match Commander Chief Inspector David McCallum for the Queen of the South v Rangers football match at Palmerston Park, Dumfries on Sunday 21 February 2016 reported that in general the fans attending the match were very well behaved.

Four arrests were made within the ground for a variety of minor offences. One was an 18 year old man who was arrested in relation to public order offences committed whilst a banner was being removed from advertising hoardings by stewards and police in contravention of ground rules. The content of the banner was not in question and number of other banners were displayed in a manner which did not contravene ground rules. An investigation is currently ongoing to identify a number of others who were present at this time.
