Police Scotland report that at around 1150hours today, Wednesday 17 August 2016 a one vehicle road traffic crash happened on the A75 road near to the Glenterry junction, Kirkcudbright.
The male driver of the vehicle, a Renault Scenic car, died at the scene. Police Scotland is currently carrying out collision investigation work and the road at the scene is currently closed. Diversions are in place at this time. Police Scotland is appealing for any witnesses to this crash to make contact through 101 and in particular would like to hear from anyone who may have had a dash camera operating at the time.
