At about 1.50pm on Wednesday 7 February 2018 a two vehicle road traffic collision happened on the A701 road near to Amisfield, Dumfries.
A van was in collision with a tanker lorry. As a result of the collision one man was pronounced dead at the scene. A full road traffic collision investigation is being carried out and the road at the scene is closed, and diversions are in place. Motorists are asked to avoid the area where possible until further notice.
