POLICE SCOTLAND HOLD OPEN DAY AT LOREBURN STREET POLICE STATION DUMFRIES

Open Day – Loreburn Street Police Station, Dumfries

Police Scotland is opening its doors to the public at Loreburn Street Police Station in Dumfries on Saturday 25 April 2015.

Between 1200 hours and 1600 hours staff in the station will welcome the public in to have a look around what is a busy operational police station. The public will be able to view areas such as the cell block, the fingerprint room, the museum, CCTV control room and the Identification Parade Room. Displays on all aspects of policing will be shown including roads policing where traffic patrol cars and motorcycles will be present. Police dogs will be present and a many of the displays will provide information on crime prevention, drugs and alcohol, motoring matters and wildlife crime.

One of the organisers, Constable Elaine Kirkpatrick said “we hope to be able to show the many and varied aspects of what modern day policing is all about and we would welcome as many as possible to come along and see what it is your local officers do in in your town and community. Come early and don’t be disappointed. Last entry for a tour is 1540 hours.
