THIEVES TARGET CO-OPERATIVE STORES IN WIGTOWN AND NEWTON STEWART

Police Scotland want to trace the following described two men thought responsible for thefts from the Co-operative Stores in Newton Stewart and Wigtown on the afternoon of Wednesday 6 May 2015.

In the first theft, which took place at around 1510 hours, two men were seen acting suspiciously in the Co-operative Store in Victoria Street in Newton Stewart. A short time later it was discovered that seven bottles of spirits worth £123 had been stolen.

In the second theft, two boxes of chewing gum were stolen from the Co-operative Store in North Main Street in Wigtown. Again two men were seen acting suspiciously at around 1540 hours.

The men are described as (1) about 5’10” tall, slim build, stubble on face, wearing a baseball cap, a blue jacket, blue jeans and black trainers. (2) about 6′ tall, stocky build, black spiky hair, wearing white trainers, tight blue jeans and a grey hooded top with Lonsdale on the front.

The men spoke with an Eastern European accent.
