Organisers of the Stranraer Oyster Festival in Dumfries and Galloway have announced the return of the Oyster Bash on Saturday 15th September at North West Castle Ice Rink. Tickets don’t officially go on sale till the end of this month but demand for pre-booking of tickets has been unexpectedly high with local people messaging the festival facebook page to secure their tickets in advance of the release date.
The Oyster Bash was widely considered to be one of the highlights of the first Oyster Festival and to deliver on their promise of a ‘bigger, better’ festival this year, Stranraer Development Trust has announced The Dangleberries as the headline music act and broadcaster Scott Wilson, the voice of Hearts and a professional event compere, as the host of the event. Ticket numbers are strictly limited to 600 and guests will also be able to enjoy an oyster bar, finger buffet, two drink bars and an auction.
Chair of Stranraer Development Trust, Romano Petrucci, said:
“We knew the Oyster Bash was popular last year but we’ve been taken aback by the sheer number of pre-booking messages we’ve received through the Stranraer Oyster Festival facebook page. I can guarantee that tickets for The Big Oyster Bash will sell out, and we are putting our heart into making this a tremendous event that’s filled with wonderful music, great entertainment and plenty of good food, including oysters of course!”
Full details of the Oyster Bash will be released later this month when tickets go on sale, priced at £20 per person. People can pre-book tickets by messaging the Festival facebook page.
The Big Oyster Bash 2018 is sponsored by R&W Windows and S&A Homes.
Stranraer Oyster Festival takes place from Friday 14th to Sunday 16th September 2018 inclusive. Full programme details and ticket information will be announced later this summer on the festival website www.stranraeroysterfestival.com and facebook page @stranraeroysterfestival.
