Sanquhar Crowd Loved ‘Thats Life’

Doris (played by Saskia) and Frank (played by Matt) from Northeast Producers Ltd, charmed the local audience at a recent music variety show called ‘That’s Life’, at the beautiful Sanquhar Town Hall.

Hosted by A’ the Airts, and run as part of their free Summer School Programme, the crowd were treated to a marvellous music performance, while sitting in the lovely cool interior on one of the hottest days of the year.

This was a free event and was sponsored by ‘Lottery – Awards for All’ and ‘Whiteside Hill Windfarm Scotland’, and the production company ‘Northeast Producers Ltd’ have arranged visits to Sanquhar several times before with other 2-3 person shows.  The story line of the show was sweet, and songs were woven into Frank meeting Doris at the local bus stop, and he does his best to convince her to go for a drink.

Everyone enjoyed singing along to old time popular songs like ‘Puppet on a String’ and ‘Smile, Smile, Smile’.  Doris and Frank have been traveling the country visiting care homes and community organisations, and this was Saskia and Matt’s 124th show.  They left Sanquhar to perform three shows in Dumfries the following day.

The characters had wonderfully cheeky banter and interacted with the audience, which made for a lovely afternoon of entertainment for all ages.
