LOCAL FARMERS PROMOTE LOCAL PRODUCE AT DUMFRIES ALDI

Dumfries and Galloway farmers were promoting the great story behind Scotland’s food and drink to shoppers at Aldi in Dumfries last weekend.

(Pictured Left to Right) Local branch chairman James Taylor, his wife Doreen, regional chairman Gary Mitchell and regional manager Teresa Dougall were serving up a selection of Scottish cooked meats, Lockerbie cheddar, Scottish oatcakes, chutney and Rowan Glen yoghurt. This follows other successful events held at Aldi stores across Scotland with the next being staged at Prestwick this weekend (5 March).

Speaking afterwards, Teresa Dougall said: “The event was a great success and it was heartening to hear as many customers saying that the reason they shopped at Aldi was the wide selection of Scottish produce they had in stock. The day provided an excellent opportunity to remind consumers about the fantastic story that Scottish farmers have to tell as well as taking the chance to speak with shoppers about labelling, Scottish produce and buying local, quality assured food.” Ends
