LOCAL FARMERS TO PROMOTE THEIR PRODUCE AT ALDI, NEWTON STEWART

Once again, NFU Scotland’s regional team in Dumfries and Galloway will be setting up stall at a local Aldi store to speak to shoppers and promote the fine Scottish food available on their doorstep.

This is the second time this year, as part of a wider roadshow of promotional events across Scotland, that the team have joined forces with Aldi in Dumfries and Galloway.

And following such a great response at the end of February, the team will be at the Newton Stewart store on 30 July from 12pm to promote and provide samples of an even wider array of fine Scottish produce on offer. This will range from Lockerbie Cheddar, oatcakes, chutney, Scottish low fat yoghurts to Scottish ham, Scotch Beef and pork.

Gary Mitchell, NFU Scotland Dumfries and Galloway Chairman said: “This is our second event this year with Aldi in Dumfries and Galloway and we look forward to meeting and speaking with shoppers once again.  We will be encouraging them to buy Scottish, support their farmers and our industry.

“Our produce is some of the best in the world and is available right on their doorsteps. Customers these days want quality – and that is what Scottish farmers produce and supply.”

Teresa Dougall, NFU Scotland Dumfries and Galloway Regional Manager said: “At the last event in their Dumfries store it was heartening to hear from shoppers who have a huge amount of support for Scottish farmers.  In these difficult and uncertain times within the agricultural sector, that support means a lot.”
