Dumfries and Galloway’s First Ever Cookery School To Officially Open In May

Station House Cookery School is the first of its kind in Dumfries and Galloway and opens in Kirkcudbright in May 2018.
The venue includes a dedicated cookery demonstration room for 40 people and student kitchens with 18 individual workstations.

The official open days for this unique venture are May 26th / 27th. The schedule is as follows…
Saturday 26th
11.00am The event will be opened at 11am Saturday 26th by Emma Harper MSP who will then take part in the ‘Celebration of Dumfries and Galloway Producers’ Cookery Demonstration.
Emma Harper MSP said:
“I am looking forward to attending the official opening of the Station House cookery school. I have visited Nick on a number of occasions as the renovation of Station House was in process and I commend his passion for food and his energy to provide education and share his expertise.
Nick is committed to sourcing his produce from local producers where possible and I welcome his eagerness for promoting the provenance of our Dumfries and Galloway fantastic produce.’

Sunday Brunch with Hollywood actor Gary Lewis
Actor Gary Lewis star of Billy Elliot, Gangs of New York and Outlander is taking part in the ‘Sunday Brunch’ demonstration. He’ll be talking about his passion for food as well as his acting career.

The Great Kirkcudbright Cook Off
Chef of 30 years and Owner of the Selkirk Arms in Kirkcudbright, Chris Walker, goes head to head with Station House’s owner Nick Morris in a competitive cook off to be judged by the audience.

 

During the weekend the individual work stations in the student kitchens will be given to local food producers who work with or supply Station House. This is a chance for us to champion and support the local Food and Drink Industry.
There will be a lottery at the end of the weekend to win a full cookery class.
