Dumfries’ first international street food festival held at Dock Park on Jubilee Sunday has been hailed as a big success.
The event attracted an estimated 4000 people who enjoyed the sunshine and the opportunity to sample a wide selection of food produced by local businesses and community groups.
A programme of entertainment throughout the day included Yemeni dancing, yoga, storytelling and a range of music.
Festival organiser Jay Rubinstein from local refugee charity Massive Outpouring of Love (MOOL) commented:
‘Our aim was also to show how much richer and more interesting our area is as a result of welcoming in new communities. We also wanted to put on on a great day out for everyone. The success of the event exceeded all our expectations. We hope to be able to repeat it next year’.
