Cycling Dumfries Back In The Saddle For Summer Rides

After missing out on our normal summer of fun rides last year, we’re delighted to be back in the saddle again for July and August with our regular ride programme.

A series of family friendly summer rides leave at 2pm on Sundays in July and August. There’s a new starting point for the summer rides – meet next to Nithsdale Rowing Club.

Each ride is suitable for everyone – from nervous beginners and families with young children, to people who just like to get out and ride sociably at a relaxed pace.

Starting at just over three miles, rides build up gradually to 11 miles (out to Mabie Forest).  Routes use Dumfries’s cycle paths, quiet back streets and rural roads. Riding in a group also gives the additional security of ‘safety in numbers’.

All rides have a break in the middle, sometimes at an interesting spot (or a nice view) with a chance for a rest, a chat and some refreshments. Please bring your own drinks and snacks!

As ever, all rides are free, but please book in advance. This helps keep numbers manageable and COVID safe. You can book at cyclingdumfries.wordpress.com/summer-rides/ Just follow the link next to each ride.
