Galloway Glens Summer Programme of Events Launched!

This week the Galloway Glens Scheme has launched a summer programme of events with activities for people of all ages planned over coming months.

Events run from June to August and, acknowledging ongoing restrictions, are either online, outdoors, or in person in small groups. They offer opportunities for people to get out into the Galloway countryside and celebrate our amazing heritage.

Activities vary from guided walks through local woodlands for participants of all ages, through to a bus tour of Galloway’s Lost Wells! The Programme kicks off on 20th June with a Ken Words guided Poetry Walk, allowing writers among us to be inspired by the Galloway landscape.

Details of all events and how to book are listed on the Galloway Glens website under ‘Events’, or follow the @GallowayGlens social media channels for updates. Advance booking is essential at all events to allow numbers to be controlled.

The programme is overseen by Helen Keron, Galloway Glens Education & Community Engagement Officer. Helen said:

“It’s so exciting to be able to plan these small-group outdoor events again, allowing us to reconnect with our communities and our landscape. Thanks very much to all our partners, who have put on an amazing array of events that explore the breadth and depth of our Galloway Glens heritage. We look forward to seeing you at some of them!”
