A collaborative project looking at life past and present in the Maxwelltown area of Dumfries are running a free bus trip for all the family to recreate a retro beach picture taken at Sandyhills in Dumfries.
Maxwelltown Memories is a project co-produced by Maxwelltown North Tenants and Residents Association and Creative Futures Lincluden and Lochside, which aims to share, record and reconnect people through personal stories of family life, school days and local myths and legends.
On Saturday 2nd September, a bus will leave Lincluden Community Centre at 10.45am and 11.05am from Lochside Primary School, and will then leave for the beach. Make sure to bring a picnic and your sun hat for a day of fun at the beach!

Anyone is welcome to come along and join the group on Tuesdays between noon and 2pm and are encouraged to bring along old photos, newspaper clippings and films and enjoy meeting old and new friends over coffee and cake. Keep an eye out for future projects and events happening soon as well!
