Solway Firth Partnership has just published online a new booklet – Words & Places, Understanding names on Scotland’s Southern Coast.
The guide is an introduction to coastal place names on the long and varied coast of Dumfries and Galloway. It has been produced as part of the Solway Coastwise project managed by Solway FirthPartnership and is the culmination of an innovative three-year project to share the meaning of place names and the stories behind them.
