Last Chance to Secure Fast-Track Tickets for Top Family Countryside Weekend

Organisers of a show-stopping country fair in Dumfries and Galloway that attracts thousands of visitors every year, are urging families and countryside enthusiasts to pre-book tickets.

Galloway Country Fair is set to welcome visitors to Drumlanrig Castle and Country Estate on 19 and 20 August for what promises to be an action-packed weekend.

This is the last opportunity to order fast-track tickets via the event’s website by Monday 14 August.

Galloway Country Fair will host around 200 quality exhibitors and entertainers across the two days with an impressive entertainment line-up including TV stunt horses from Atkinson Action Horses – who have appeared in Victoria and Poldark.

Grant Bazin, The Horse Whisperer, and Owl Magic will also showcase their unique talents, while the popular Dog & Duck show will make its return to Drumlanrig. There will also be activity for West Sound Cash for Kids throughout the weekend.

Hundreds of Scottish artisan producers will showcase a wide variety of fashion, produce and crafts.

Meanwhile there will be plenty of activities for visitors to try including a 4×4 route sponsored by Border Cars, gundog scurry, clay shooting, casting clinics, as well as an exciting free children’s activity zone featuring horse rides on the Blackstone Clydesdales, low ropes course, bouncy castles, Primal Bushcraft & Survival and Puppet Lab’s Forest Creatures Show.

Those with a flair for cooking will enjoy the Buccleuch Bake Off competition which returns for its third year – and there’s even a special guest appearance and demonstrations from Scottish cookery writer and author Sue Lawrence, in partnership with Wigtown Book Festival.

Anna Fergusson, Visitor Services Manager at Drumlanrig Castle and Country Estate, said: “This year’s Galloway Country Fair is definitely not to be missed with a superb entertainment programme, host of country sports activities and the best producers the country has to offer.
“Make sure you snap up a ticket by booking online ahead of the big event. We’re even offering camping packages for the opportunity to spend the night in the picturesque surroundings of the Estate.”

Tickets will be available to purchase upon arrival at the gate at Galloway Country Fair.

Galloway Country Fair takes place on Saturday 19 August, 10am–6pm and Sunday 20 August, 10am-5pm. Tickets are £13 for adults, £5 for children aged under 16 years, £10 for concessions and £30 for a family pass (two adults and up to three children). Under-fives go free.
