The International Space Station has provided a home in space, 220 miles above us, for the past 17 years. Space colonisation will take massive resources and better solutions for launching heavy payloads from Earth. Space tourism is already within reach. But the development of permanent colonies will take much longer.

In this talk, we will look at human aspects of permanent settlement in space. For example, how will the social and psychological needs of people in isolated colonies be met?”

The talk is suitable for public and older school pupils. No ticket needed.
