SPOOKY OCTOBER HOLIDAY FUN – CASTLE KENNEDY GARDENS

NEW Garden activities will ‘leaf’ your imagination running wild during the October Holidays!

Families will meet some strange new faces in Castle Kennedy Gardens this Saturday (15th October) when a NEW Pumpkin Trail offers children an exciting, Autumn tour around the gardens.

Beginning at the Halloween-themed Garden Tearoom, families can uncover hidden pumpkin faces as part of the new trail which will run daily between 10am and 4pm, until the end of the month. The trail will guide Halloween hunters in and around the 16th century Castle Kennedy ruins, the ancient Walled Garden and the beautiful Round Pond, discovering clues along the way to win a Halloween treat!

Kids of all ages can kick off the October Holidays by getting to grips with great Garden Ranger activities such as Den Building and Camp Fire Treats making the most of beautiful, Autumnal days in one of Scotland’s most magnificent gardens on Wednesday 19th October.

The dark nights bring a fantastic opportunity for families and couples to enjoy a spot of Star Gazing on Wednesday 26th October when one of the region’s Biosphere Dark Rangers will help identify star constellations and teach visitors more about what lies above, followed by some homemade soup and a sandwich in the Garden Tearoom.

Hailing Halloween for the first time, Castle Kennedy Gardens will also throw open its gates after dark on Saturday 29th, Sunday 30th and Monday 31st October when it offers children and adults Ghostly Halloween Tours! The tours will run for children from 6pm and adults from 7pm & 8pm, bringing 16th century ruins of Castle Kennedy to life with costumed story tellers from Stranraer Drama Club re-living several dramatic tales of dastardly deeds and ghoulish goings-on!
