Get a head start on studying for a degree by joining the Summer School for Access 2021 at the University of Glasgow School of Interdisciplinary Studies in Dumfries.
The Summer School provides an introduction to university-level study in a supportive, friendly environment. You will gain experience of academic writing, study skills, lectures and seminars; as well as receiving support with your university application.

The programme will run online from Monday 7th June until Monday 5th July 2021. Live online seminars will be delivered over the three days per week, with additional online material available any time.

Whether you are leaving school, finishing a course at college, or are returning to education after a break; this programme is designed to introduce you to studying at this level.

Summer School applicants should be aiming to enrol on a degree programme in Environmental Science & Sustainability, or Health & Social Sector Leadership. Successful completion of the Summer School can help you gain entry to either of these programmes.
In Health & Social Sector Leadership you will learn about subjects such as health inequalities, criteria for happiness & well-being, and truths and myths around healthy diets.
In Environmental Science you will study topics such as the pros and cons of renewable energy sources, and the impacts of global environmental issues such as climate change.
