Dumfries and Galloway is set to host an upcoming event that will be of great interest to young people aspiring to make it in the media industry.
The Usual Place, located in Dumfries, is excited to announce that BBC The Social will be visiting on May 11th, from 7-9pm. The Social is a talent development project from BBC Scotland that works with new creators from across the country to help them pursue careers in the world of media.
Over the past six years, The Social has worked with hundreds of creators, and their content has generated over 700 million views on social media platforms. They have also produced 50 hours of TV and podcast content for BBC iPlayer and Sounds, and have been recognized with several industry awards. At the event, attendees will learn about how The Social operates, how to apply to become a contributor, and receive top tips for creating quality social media content.
