DUMFRIES Young Calves 01/12/14
Cumberland & Dumfriesshire Farmers Mart PLC held their Christmas show and sale of Young Calves in Dumfries on Monday.
35 good quality young calves were forward to a packed ringside of buyers. Trade very dear.
First prize beef bred calf and overall champion was a 8 week old lim x bull from S I Carlisle and co, Nether Dargavel. Which sold for £465 to Mr Baty & son, Broomhills.
Second prize beef bred calf went to Kerricks Farm Ltd for a 8 week old BB Heifer calf which sold for £430.
First prize dairy bred calf was a 10 week old Fleckvieh heifer from Mesr JM & J Goldie. Newbie Mains which was sold for £300
