Galloway Juniors Are Not ‘sheepish’ When It Comes To Cricket

Galloway Juniors in action at Gatehouse

The first day of the school holidays saw a gathering of the youth of Galloway Cricket Club – 24 teenagers met up for an exciting game. Teams were mixed boys and girls of various abilities and experience and the sportsmanship and comradery between the youngsters was commendable.
The teams were agriculturally named the Romneys and the Texels after sheep! The scores aren’t what matter in games like these but the kids put on a fantastic display and an exciting game ended with the Texels winning by only 14 runs.
The sun shone all day and made the day even more enjoyable with kids from various local high schools as well as those who have returned from boarding school getting to know each other.

If anyone is looking to get involved with the junior section of the club, we offer something for everyone. Get in touch to find out more! Contact Natalie: 07872 909 010, find us on Facebook “Galloway Cricket Club” or visit our website: www.gallowaycricketclub.co.uk
