The 2013 festival attracted over 800 participants across the mountain biking, road cycling, running and walking events. Events take place from the Basecamp of Langholm Rugby Club, and which also hosts a range of exhibitors including Bike 7, Langholm Producers Market, Rock UK, food vendors and many more.
Graham Obree is the star attraction on Saturday 17th as he hosts an evening at the Buccleuch Centre. Obree, as one Scotland’s greatest cyclists will recount tales of being the underdog who built his own bike from washing machine parts, trained without technology and went on to break perhaps the most prestigious record in cycling – the hour record – not once, but twice.
Dawn Lamb, MTAF Chairperson said, “We’re delighted with the increase numbers of bookings, particularly in the trail run which is one of the toughest in Scotland. We look forward to welcoming visitors to the town with the help of our wonderful Muckle Maker volunteers. We would like to extend our gratitude to Buccleuch Estates and Langholm Initiative for their continued help and support in delivering what will hopefully be another successful festival.”1 a 1 a muckle 3
