Nine Try Defeat For Blacks By Allan Glens

Second placed Stewartry Rugby Club travelled up to the unbeaten Tennent’s West One leaders Allan Glens who two weeks previously had beaten the Blacks 54-18 at Greenlaw in the West Shield Tournament AG having scored eight tries in that game.

ALLAN GLENS RFC 59 pts STEWARTRY RFC 0 pts.

There was more misery for the Blacks as Allan Glens went one better scoring nine tries to no reply from the Blacks this time.

Allan Glens were at full strength and used their wingers out wide to stretch the Blacks defence to score their tries which saw five converted. Stewartry missing some of their regular first choice players battled hard but further injuries throughout the game saw the full squad used to no avail with young Ben Spence the only bright spot when he came on in the backrow taking on players much bigger than himself.

Stewartry drop down to third  behind AG and Kilmarnock but have two weeks to reset  before travelling to Garnock on 26th October. Next home game is 16th November at home to Kilmarnock.

Stewartry Sirens also lost a fourth away game on Sunday at Howe of Fife 39-29 after Stewartry Sirens had won 53-7 at Greenlaw back in August. Next home game this Sunday v Annan Warriors ko 2.00pm.
