QUEEN OF THE SOUTH ACADEMY TAKES SHAPE AT KING GEORGE V SPORTS COMPLEX IN DUMFRIES

Having recently taken over the running of the King George V sports complex in Dumfries, work has starting on developing the facilities in a bid to provide a state of the art academy for use by both the club and the community.

Chairman, Billy Hewitson says “It’s very much a work in progress, but we will strive towards trying to further improve this already great facility to the benefit of the area and our youth teams. In the future we hope to make changes to the playing surface and carry out work to improve the tennis courts. The gym that’s already in place is first class”.

In town for a golf day, our first team squad took the opportunity to look around the academy. Manager, James Fowler added “The facilities are good, it’ll be good for our youths. The gym will be used to phase their development, it’ll help them when working build up their strength. The club will benefit both short and long term”.
