The ball came out to their number 10 who kicked for a drop goal but the ball hit the left post. In the follow up ruck Clydebank gave away a penalty for not releasing. Mosey cleared the ball down field.

Mounting an another attack on the home line Stewartry were penalised for offside giving the home team a lineout but their throw in was not straight. Taking the ball at the back of the scrum Mosey kicked the ball deep into the Clydebank 22 but at the lineout the Blacks gave away another penalty for jumping too early. The Clydebank kick did not find touch.

Counter attacking Stewartry knocked on 10 metres from the Clydebank line. At the scrum the home pack took the heal but good pressure from Cammy Fenwick made a Clydebank player knock on giving the Blacks a 5 metre scrum. Again the home pack pushed Stewartry back on their own heal allowing Clydebank to spoil and get a turnover but they were penalised for not releasing the ball.

Mosey added another 3 points with the penalty. Twenty five minutes into the first period Broll went on in place of Cannon. John Kerr secured the restart and made ground up to halfway. Passing to Fergusson he made another jinking run before putting the ball to McCarney but he was stopped 15 metres short of the home line. Clydebank knocked on in the tackle.

The second period started with a Blacks kick off and Cannon back on in place of McMorran. A Clydebank forward caught the restart inside their own 22 but superb follow up by the Stewartry pack got them a turnover. Ian Fenwick picked up the ball at the back of the ruck, went left and passed to Smith who crashed over the home line for a try. The conversion went wide.

With 6 minutes gone in the second period,  Stewartry deep inside their own 22 gave away a penalty for handling on the ground. The home side took a quick tap kick and drove in to score an unconverted try left of the posts.

Securing the restart ball the Blacks attacked again up to the home 22 where Clydebank knocked on. Taking the heal in the scrum the ball came back and out to Fergusson who charged through three defenders heading for the home line before he was stopped short. The Blacks got the push on in the 5 metre scrum but it wheeled round.

Midway through the second period McMorran went back on to replace Broll and Thomson substituted D Kerr. The home team were given a kickable penalty on the Stewartry 22 for holding on to the ball on the ground. They opted for a lineout but it didn’t come to anything.

With 15 minutes remaining Hogg replaced McCarney. From a ruck the ball came back to the Stewartry backs which saw Hogg break up the left wing into the home 22 but the Blacks were offside.

In the last 10 minutes Riddick replaced Fergusson and reluctantly J Kerr came off to be replaced by Sainsbury. With 5 minutes left on the clock the Blacks were penalised for not rolling away from the tackle giving Clydebank another penalty and again they went for a lineout. Porteous spoiled to deny the home forwards good possession.

Cannon came off to be replaced by McCulloch. At a scrum in Stewratry territory the Blacks broke up the left wing but were stopped. Clydebank secured the ball but they too were stopped. At the ruck Muir came in and got a turnover and made ground into home territory but in the tackle the ball was knocked on.

At the scrum in the last minute the Blacks were penalised for collapsing taking the game to full time with the score Stewartry 18 Clydebank 5.

If Clydebank had taken all the kickable penalties the score might have been different. The Blacks need to cut down the unforced errors
