Advance Warning Of A701 Road Closure At Springhill House

Amey, on behalf of Transport Scotland, will be undertaking essential maintenance on the A701 at Springhill House from Friday 10th September to Wednesday 15th September 2021.

This scheme, with a value of £400,000 will benefit road users by improving the condition of the carriageway and reducing the need for more extensive maintenance in future.

The work requires a full weekend closure between 7pm on Friday 10th and 6am on Monday 13th September. These will be followed by overnight closures between 7pm and 6am the following morning on Monday 13th September, Tuesday 14th September, and Wednesday 15th September 2021.

The A701 carriageway will be open as normal at 6am on Thursday 16th August.

While this work is taking place a signed diversion route will be in operation. Traffic will be diverted between Beattock and Dumfries via Lockerbie, using the B7076, A709 and A75.

Our operatives will follow strict physical distancing and hygiene protocols throughout the programme, in line with the Scottish Government’s COVID-19 guidance.

Please note, all schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.
