Advance Warning Of Overnight Road Works – A76 Ellisland

Amey, on behalf of Transport Scotland, are undertaking essential overnight maintenance on the northbound A76 at Ellisland, south of Allanton, between Croftmaggot Road and Lochview Place, from Friday 9th September to Sunday 25th September 2022. The scheme will take place during the hours of 7pm and 6am, each night and the road will re-open as normal outwith these times. Traffic management will be removed by 6am on Sunday 25th September.

The work, with a value of £828,930, will benefit around 13,029 vehicles using this route each day by improving the condition of the road surface and reducing the need for more extensive maintenance in future.

This scheme requires overnight closures for the extent of the works, with a signed diversion in operation. Temporary traffic lights will also be required daytime at various periods throughout construction to allow deeper material to cool.

Northbound traffic will exit the A76 at Newbridge to join the B729 and travel to the A702 Clone Road. From here, vehicles will continue via the A702 to re-join the A76 at Thornhill. Southbound traffic will follow the same route in reverse order. Temporary traffic lights will be in place at the single-track Nith Bridge.

Our operatives follow strict physical distancing and hygiene protocols throughout the programme, in line with the current Scottish Government’s COVID-19 guidance.
Please note, all schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.
