AFTER OVERNIGHT HEAVY RAIN DUMFRIES AND GALLOWAY GIVEN A FLOOD ALERT

A FLOOD ALERT has been issued for Dumfries and Galloway by SEPA today Tuesday the 12th of March 2019.

A spell of heavy rain on Monday evening overnight into Tuesday morning, coupled with some melting snow, could result in some minor flooding issues. Impacts if realised could include: flooding to low-lying land and roads and disruption to travel.

SEPA will continue to monitor the situation and further updates will appear here if the situation changes.

A Red  FLOOD WARNING has been issued for Whitesands area in Dumfries This morning!

Flooding of Whitesands car park is expected. Police have issued a warning asking people NOT TO PARK in the carpark and if they have already parked there, to please remove their vehicles. They Will close the road once the water starts to impact on the roadway!
