Overnight Lane Closures For M6 Resurfacing – (Cheshire)

Overnight lane closures for a £3.5million smoother journeys project along the M6 in Cheshire will get underway on Monday (6 December).

National Highways is resurfacing large sections of the carriageway along the four miles between junction 19 at Knutsford and junction 20 at Lymm. All the work will be done overnight between 10pm and 5am (7am at weekends) when traffic along the motorway is at its lightest.

The work will be delivered with an emphasis on keeping the motorway open to drivers; the resurfacing will be done using lane closures only. A limited number of carriageway closures will be needed at the end of the project in March.

Drivers are advised to check traffic conditions before setting out on journeys. Live traffic information is always available at www.trafficengland.com or from National Highways’ 24-7 customer contact centre at 0300 123 5000.

Updates will also be posted to @HighwaysNWest – National Highways’ regional Twitter feed. Details of maintenance projects across the North West are available on a dedicated webpage at: https://nationalhighways.co.uk/our-work/north-west/north-west-maintenance-schemes/
