Dumfries Christmas Lights Switch on and Christmas Market will be held on Sunday 26th November from 2pm to 7pm with lights going on at 6pm this year.
Switch On afternoon, will feature live entertainment, at the Plainstanes on the High Street, showcasing local talent, school pupils, and excerpts from our local pantomime by the Theatre Royal’s Guild of Players . Then the lights will be switched on and Santa Claus will appear.
Galloway Council is planning ahead for the 2017 Dumfries Christmas Lights Switch On and market. As last year, a key part of the day will be the marketplace, featuring local businesses and traders.
Anyone wanting their business to participate in this great retail opportunity, should book a place as soon as possible. Stalls, costing only £40, will be located along Dumfries High Street and be equipped with a canopy.
Councillor Ronnie Nicholson, chair of Nithsdale Area committee, said: “This is a great opportunity to for local businesses to showcase their products and services at a popular event with Dumfries town centre bustling with families.”
