NHS Bring Outpatient Services Together at Old DGRI Building

Dumfries and Galloway NHS Clinical Services currently provided from Crichton Hall will move to Mountainhall Treatment Centre (formerly DGRI) on the weekend of the 8th February with business as usual resuming the week of the 11th February. The move will take place over the weekend to enable continuity of service for patients who attend appointments with these services and minimal disruption for staff who deliver them.

The move of these services; Mental Health Outpatients, Diabetes Service, Diabetic Retinopathy Service and Cardiac Rehabilitation is part of the redevelopment of the Mountainhall site, a key element in NHS Dumfries and Galloway’s ongoing project shaping the future of healthcare in the region.

Katy Lewis, Director of Finance/Lead Sponsor for the Mountainhall Redevelopment Project, NHS Dumfries and Galloway said:

“This is a development which brings services from multiple sites to one location.
“We look forward to Mountainhall Treatment Centre developing into its own unique healthcare facility, and at the same time having close links to DGRI, community hospitals and community services throughout the region.”

Denise Moffat, General Manager for Mental Health Services, NHS Dumfries and Galloway said:

“This is a welcomed development for Mental Health Services based at Crichton Hall. We will not only be moving our staff teams, we will also be moving our outpatient appointments that had been provided at Crichton Hall to a bright and spacious area in Mountainhall Treatment Centre.
“Patients can be assured that their agreed contact and support from their team will be unaffected by this move.”

Patients who usually attend appointments at Mental Health Outpatients, Diabetes Service and Diabetic Retinopathy Screening should enter Mountainhall Treatment Centre via the main entrance and those attending Cardiac Rehabilitation at the rear of the building, where the former DGRI dining room was located.
