South of Scotland Enterprise (SOSE) has announced this week that Scottish Ministers are seeking to appoint three new members to its Board.
The region’s economic and community development agency is looking for applicants who can demonstrate current experience in either:
- Renewables, energy and Net Zero
- Finance
- Communities and community wealth building
The main duties of SOSE Board members are to provide leadership, governance, direction, support and guidance.
In addition, Board members are expected to ensure that SOSE delivers its functions effectively and efficiently and in accordance with the aims, policies and priorities of Scottish Ministers.
Applicants should also demonstrate evidence of an understanding of:
- Current and future challenges and opportunities facing SOSE
- Communication and influencing
- Working co-operatively
- Working collaboratively and flexibly with colleagues
- Innovation and creative problem solving.
Successful applicants will be fully supported, given access to training, and will work alongside the existing Board members to help SOSE progress with delivering its ongoing mission to make the day to day lives of local people better.
