Spring Fling School Poster and Young Artist Bursary Winners Exhibition

Gracefield Hosts Lesser Known Work of Archie Sutter Watt

The winners of the annual Spring Fling School Poster Competition are soon to be unveiled.
They will go on display at the Gracefield Arts Centre, Dumfries, along with work by the winners of Spring Fling’s Young Artist Bursary awards.
Both projects have been run in collaboration with the Archie Sutter Watt Trust, which was set up in memory of the celebrated Dumfries and Galloway artist and teacher who died in 2005. The poster competition is also funded by the Holywood Trust.
The exhibitions will run from 28 February to 4 April with a special preview from 2pm to 4pm on Saturday, 28 February – at which the poster competition winners will be present.
Spring Fling’s Young Artist Bursary scheme exhibition will feature work by some of the winners from the past four years. They are Katie Anderson, Terri Campbell, Holly Clothier, Fraser Irvine, Rory Laycock and Emma Kerr.
An exhibition of work by Archie Sutter Watt will also take place at Gracefield at the same time. Celebrated for his watercolours, this exhibition is a chance to explore a lesser known aspect of his work and is called Archie in Oils.
