Staff at SuperControl booking and management system, based in Castle Douglas, have raised £1,325 for the Alexandra Unit Endowment Fund at Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary.
The SuperControl Corporate Charity Programme, made up of a team of six colleagues, was set up in March this year. The team organised a host of in-house events at their Castle Douglas office – including radio auctions, doughnut days and bonus ball plays. There was even a sweepstake to guess the sex, weight and date of birth of the Operations Director’s baby (born in October).
In addition to the money raised in-house, the team came up with a plan involving Managing Director Robert Kennedy, to boost funds further.
“We wanted to raise as much money as possible,” Sales Executive Shani Asbridge explains, “so we decided to launch Robert out of a giant slingshot and set up a Just Giving page so that customers and friends could donate to make it happen.”
That took place at Laggan Outdoor Activity Centre last month.
A cheque for £1,325 was presented to Kelly Lumsden, Deputy Charge Nurse, and Megan Houston, Health Care Support Worker, by SuperControl’s Managing Director Robert Kennedy and Sales Executive Shani Asbridge at SuperControl’s office in Castle Douglas on Friday 11 November.
