Around 2220 hours on Friday 6 May 2016, police received a report of an unconscious 15 year old girl at an address in Nithside Avenue, Dumfries.
Emergency services attended and the girl was taken by ambulance to Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary where she was pronounced dead a short time later.
A post mortem examination will be carried out in due course to establish the exact cause of death however there are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances.
A report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.
