£170,000 Worth Of Drugs Recovered Near Lockerbie

Police Scotland have confirmed that a quantity of class B drugs have been recovered following a routine road policing stop near Lockerbie.

Around 5pm on Sunday, 24 October, 2021 officers from the Road Policing unit stopped a Toyota Avensis on the B70076. A search of the car found a quantity of herbal cannabis with an estimated street value of £170,000.

Four men aged, 20, 26, 31 and 45 have been arrested and charged in connection with drug offences and are due to appear at Dumfries Sheriff Court on Monday, 25 October, 2021.

Detective Inspector John Service, of Police Scotland’s CID unit, said: “This was a sizeable recovery and shows the good work and commitment of our officers to prevent drugs from reaching our local communities.
