Road Policing officers in Dumfries and Galloway have recovered around 6kg of cannabis, worth an estimated street value of £60,000, during a routine vehicle stop.
Around 10.50am on Thursday, 22 December, 2022, officers stopped a Vauxhall Insignia on the M74 near to Junction 16 Johnstonebridge, when the driver was found with the drugs and a counterfeit driving licence.
The 28-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with drugs and road traffic offences and is due to appear at Dumfries Sheriff Court on Friday, 23 December, 2022.
Sergeant Scott McCreadie from Dumfries and Galloway Road Policing Unit said: “This recovery highlights the continuous work by officers to remove drugs from our communities.
