72 Year Old Woman Injured In Thornhill Crash

Road policing officers are appealing for information following a two car crash in Dumfriesshire.

Around 1.45pm on Wednesday, 4 January, 2023, police were called to Drumlanrig Street, Thornhill to reports of a crash involving a red Honda Jazz and a silver Ford Mondeo. The Honda then collided with a traffic island before coming to a stop.

The driver of the Honda Jazz, a 72-year-old woman, was taken to Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary. The driver of the Ford Mondeo was not injured.

Enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances and officers are appealing for witnesses.

Constable Stuart Delaney said: “I would like to appeal for anyone who saw what happened or saw either of the cars before the crash to get in touch with us. Also, anyone with dash cam footage of the Drumlanrig Street area around 1.45pm on Wednesday, please review this and bring anything you think may be significant to our attention.”
