Running from 5 to 10 October, Business Week featured seminars, workshops, networking events, highlighting the range of support, advice and initiatives available to local business from the private and public sectors. Events also gave entrepreneurs the chance to hear from businesses, telling the story of their journeys, challenges and successes. Topics for learning opportunities included how to make the most from social media, personnel management, recruitment, training, marketing, and online trading.

Key events included a business breakfast, featuring an inspirational keynote speech by James Ewart of James Ewart Racing; the Dumfries and Galloway Chamber lunch, with guest speaker Professor Craig Mahoney, principal of the University of the West of Scotland; and a Celebration of Business dinner, with Ross Martin, chief executive of the Scottish Council for Development and Industry.

Council Leader Ronnie Nicholson said, “Building the local economy is the number one priority for our Council. Business Week

Building on the success of last year, Business Week 2015 gave local entrepreneurs the opportunity to develop their knowledge and learn to think in new ways. The events give participants a great opportunity to network with fellow business people and promote what they do, which are vital to business success.”
