GANG ASSAULT 47 YEAR OLD MAN IN DUMFRIES

Police Scotland officers in Dumfries are seeking witnesses to a disturbance which happened at the rear entrance to the Hole in the Wa Inn in High Street in Dumfries.  At around 1845 hours on Sunday 17 April 2016 a disturbance took place in the front bar of the premises, and a number of people then moved to the rear entrance to the premises.  Around that time a 47 year old man from Dumfries was assaulted by a number of male persons, perhaps as many as eight or nine.  As a result it has been found that the victim has suffered a neck injury and has been treated at Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary for his injuries.

Detective Constable Matt Williams at Dumfries said “this was a particulary nasty attack by a group of men on an individual and has resulted in the victim receiveing an injury to his neck.  We are keen to hear from anyone who was in the bar that day and who may have seen this disturbance.
