Do you like walking, going for coffee, shopping, and chatting? Could you spare a few hours a week? You could help someone with sight loss get out and about, enjoying things you’re already doing. Guide Dogs Scotland will provide you with training on how to help someone with sight loss, and support you with your partnership.
To become a My Guide volunteer you’ll need to complete the following:
- Enhanced DBS, Disclosure Scotland or Access NI check
- My Guide Level one – sighted guide training
- My Guide Level two – volunteer training
- Safeguarding training
My Guide is a wonderful opportunity to gain experience supporting people who are blind or partially sighted.
