Cairn Valley Community Transport (CVCT) based in Moniaive have stepped in to help local older residents to get their Covid injections.
CVCT were approached by Glencairn Community Council when it became clear that residents of Moniaive and Dunscore had been offered vaccinations but they have to travel to Palmerston Arena in Dumfries for them. Some older residents keen to get their jags were concerned with the cost and the difficulties of travelling into Dumfries. Stephen Sparrow, Chairman of of CVCT, said “our volunteer drivers were quick to respond and we will liaise with the Community Council and residents to provide assistance”.
CVCT is a registered charity and normally provides a minibus service to local organisations, runs excursions and a scheduled service to Castle Douglas
